It was the middle of the night when we got the call. All grocery store coolers were warm. We checked out the system and found the whole medium temp rack was short about 1000 pounds of refrigerant. Time to get some R-22...
We grabbed this fifty foot 3/8 hose and a sight glass. The long hose saved us from hauling all the drums of R-22 up all those stairs. The sight glass immediately told us when the drum was out of liquid. The medium temp rack was out of refrigerant so there was no way we were going to bother with vapor charging.
About 400 lbs later...
This was where the attempted copper thieves broke the liquid line. If they only new what they were in for.

All the stores refrigerant lines, except this one, were covered and protected with steel. You would think loosing $20,000 worth of refrigerant would be an incentive to protect your existing lines.
