Service Call: When I arrived to this job site I could hear the compressor short cycling on its low pressure switch. I removed the side panels and found the evaporator and compressor iced up. The fan motor wasn't working. I put my hand on the motor and it was cold. I inspected the controls and found found the control board supplying the 208 volt contactor coil with 120 volts. I rewired the fan motor to run continuously to get some cooling until I could come back with parts. The office staff were VERY pleased with that.
I came the next day to install the new rheem control board and rewire the fan motor. When I turned the unit on it still wouldn't work. The contactor had proper power but the coil wouldn't pull in. I had a spare in the truck that I installed.
