Heat Craft Transformer Failures...




This series of evaporators is notorious for transformer failures. This is the third one I've replaced on this model.











The stores refrigeration system is has two independent racks. Each walk in cooler and freezer was able to hold temperature from one single rack running two of four coils. Its a great way to hold product temperature when repairs must be completed. I energized the liquid line solenoids to the coils and had one of the forklift operator lift me up on a man lift to replace the defective transformer.



The replacement 600 to 240 volt transformer was fully enclosed to ensure no ice build up on the terminals.
