Purpose of Refrigerant Distributor

• Used on multi circuit coils (serpentine)
  
  
• Eliminates pressure drop thru long coils by feeding ref. thru multiple circuit within the coil
  
  
• Provides equal distribution of liquid and vapor to each coil circuit
  
  
• Distributors are part of the evaporator, they have nozzles which work with only certain types of refrigerant ( nozzles provide an equal distribution of liquid vapor mix)
