Identifying Compressor Failures

1. What type of compressors is it?
   
   
2. Is the problem electrical or mechanical?
   
   
3. If the problem is electrical, is it in the Power Circuit or the Control Circuit?
   
   
4. If the Power Circuit, do we have voltage at the Compressor Terminal?
   
   
5. If the problem is the Control Circuit?
   
   
6. If the problem is Mechanical does the Comp. still run?
   
   
7. If the comp. will not run, very little can be determined until a new compressor has been installed and a compressor tear down has been done on the old comp.
   
   
8. if the comp. will run, what is the symptoms? (no pumping, noise, vibration)
   
   
9. What are the pressures, temperature and superheat at the compressor?
   
   
10. What is the prior history of the job?
