Short

•  Between winding (turn to turn Short)

•  To ground

Note

•  Indicated by a lower than normal run to start ratio (turn to turn)

•  Indicated by a resistance reading from motor terminal to motor case (short to ground)

Ground

•  Either motor winding (touches motor frame)

Note

•  Indicated by a resistance reading form any motor terminal to motor case

Open

•  Either motor winding is broken (no path to current flow)

Note

•  Indicated by a very high (infinite) resistance reading between compressor terminals
