Magnetic Fields

Magnetic Feilds

Magnetic Field HVAC Electrical
    • Field force is strongest where the magnetic flux is most dense
    • That part is known as the magnetic poles
    • The poles are the points at which the magnetic lines of force enter and leave the magnet

Characteristics of Magnetic Lines

    • Magnetic lines of force posses direction
    • The north pole of a compass always points to the south pole of the magnet
    • Magnetic lines of force always from complete loops
    • Magnetic lines of force represent tension along there length which tend to make then a short as possible
    • Magnetic line of force tend to repel each other
    • Magnetic lines of force cannot intersect or cross but will always form individual loops

Magnetic Screen

Screen

    • Uses soft iron to shield a device providing an alternate path for magnetic field

Reluctance

    • The property that opposes the setting up of flux
    • Material with low reluctance tend to concentrate the magnetic field
    • Soft iron has a low reluctance
