This evaporator was filthy. The coil was icing up, a small coil TD and the box temperature was high. The coil had to be cleaned.
Step 1: I grabbed a brush and removed as much dirt as I could off the back. Step 2: I took off the fan guards and threw them into a commercial dishwasher. It's an easy way to clean dirty fan guards, blades and son on...
Step 3: I brought over a nitrogen tank and blasted out as much crud as I could from the front of the coil.
Step 4: Chemical cleaning. I used this product from Nu-Calgon, "Evap foam no rinse". It's a good product but be sure to read the instructions.
Step 5: Remove the drain pan and clean it. Even go as far as blowing out the condensate drain. No one likes call backs...
