Access to thisCarrier unit was tough. I took a pair of side cutters to the bushes.
When I arrived to the unit it would cycle on and off to the vibrations from my movements working on it. I started out by jumpering out the controls at the control board. Everything was working as it should. I checked out the thermostat and even ohmed out the t-stat (with the power off). One of the wires had no continuity.
On a closer look I found the thermostat wire on top of the fan housing damaged. I spliced and relocated some new 8 wire, turned on the unit and it started up with no problems.
The whole job was done in this puddle of water from the broken sprinklers.
